ART TO GO

Back by popular demand! Fallbrook Arts, Inc. presents “Art to Go” on Saturday, May 12 from 4–7 p.m.
Arrive with ticket; depart with art... that is quite literally Art to Go.  Selections, which have a $150 minimum value, range from painting, blown glass, and fine art prints to artisan jewelry, sculpture, and fine woodwork. The fun comes into play as guests draw a number to determine their ‘picking order’ and vie to get their first choices… some trying some good old-fashioned horse-trading while enjoying refreshments from La Caseta Restaurant and musical entertainment. Other event highlights are a silent auction, an opportunity to meet some of the artists, and a live auction of works by Gabriele Bitter, Ted Nuttall, Ron Pokrasso and Joseph Zbukvic.
Tickets are $135 and include entry for up to two guests (one selection of art). Reservations can be made at Fallbrook Art Center, 103 S. Main, Monday–Saturday 10 a.m.–4 p.m., and Sundau Noon–3 p.m. or online at www.fallbrookartsinc.org.
All proceeds benefit Fallbrook Arts, Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to cultivating and sustaining the arts community by supporting its five divisions, each with a distinct purpose and mission: Fallbrook Art Center, Fallbrook School of the Arts, Brandon Gallery, Art in Public Places, and Fallbrook Arts Alliance.

FALLBROOK CROP WALK

The 21st annual Fallbrook CROP Walk will start at 1 p.m. and finish at the Fallbrook Food Pantry (FFP), 1042 S. Mission Road in Fallbrook, on Sunday, May 6. The route, a little over 3.5 miles, begins at the FFP and heads down Main Street through downtown Fallbrook, with a water station at the halfway point. At the conclusion of the walk, participants will be provided food and refreshment, compliments of the FFP. Family and friends are encouraged to participate together.
The event is a fund-raising walk hosted by Church World Service (www.churchworldservice.org), an ecumenical ministry of 36 Christian denominations and communions working in partnership to eradicate hunger and poverty, and coordinated by local community volunteers. Seventy-five percent of the money raised at this event goes to help the world’s hungry through Church World Service and 25% goes to help the poor through the Fallbrook Food Pantry (www.fallbrookfoodpantry.org), a non-profit organization that has worked for almost two decades to provide local hunger relief to the unincorporated areas of Fallbrook, Bonsall, Rainbow, De Luz and Pala. Participating churches include Christ the King Lutheran (760-728-2007), Community Baptist (760-728-2966), Fallbrook Apostolic (760-728-1717), Fallbrook Presbyterian (760-728-5804), First Christian (760-728-7649), St. John’s Episcopal (760-728-2908) and United Methodist of Fallbrook (760-728-1472).
Anyone wishing to donate to this year’s Fallbrook CROP Walk may contact a participating church or Fallbrook CROP Walk Coordinator, Paul Patterson, at fallbrookcrop@yahoo.com or 760-659-8005.
